School Residencies — Now Booking Spring 2027 Bring authentic hip hop culture into your school for four days of classes plus a student performance the whole school can celebrate. Pound It Hip Hop Studio residencies teach more than choreography. Students learn the history and cultural foundations of hip hop — where the dance came from, why it exists, and how peace, love, unity, and having fun still guide the culture today. Instructors connect movement to its roots in community, self-expression, and respect so students understand they are joining a living tradition, not just learning steps. What’s included: - 4 days of age-appropriate classes tailored to your grades and schedule - History and cultural education woven into every session (origins, values, and respectful practice) - Foundations in hip hop and related street styles, musicality, teamwork, and confidence - A school showcase performance at the end of the residency - Professional teaching artists experienced with elementary and junior high students - Flexible programming that works in gyms, multi-purpose rooms, and classrooms Residencies support physical education, fine arts, wellness weeks, cultural days, and school-wide community building.
